Position Overview
This role plays a key part in ensuring an enjoyable and well-paced golf experience for all players. As a Player’s Assistant (Starter/Marshal), you will be responsible for welcoming golfers, explaining course policies, monitoring pace of play, and assisting with on-course customer service needs. You will act as an ambassador for Osoyoos Golf Club, providing friendly and professional service while ensuring the smooth flow of play across our two championship courses.
Key Responsibilities
• Greet golfers on the first tee, provide key course information, and ensure players understand pace-of-play guidelines and local rules.
• Monitor on-course play to maintain proper pace and address any issues that arise in a friendly and professional manner.
• Assist with tee-time management, ensuring groups tee off on schedule.
• Provide exceptional customer service, assisting players with directions, course information, and any special requests.
• Assist with daily setup, signage, and ensuring the course is ready for play.
• Represent Osoyoos Golf Club in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Qualifications
• Friendly, outgoing personality with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
• Knowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and pace-of-play standards.
• Strong, yet positive, communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
• Previous golf course experience or a strong knowledge of the game is an asset, but not required.
