Savannah Golf Links is a fully public 18 hole golf course set in the south end of Cambridge, Ontario. We run a very busy golf course but currently underutilize our restaurant facilities. Our goal for the 2025 golf season is better service our customers from a food and beverage standpoint.
Savannah Golf Links is seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our team. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality food to our patrons. You will be responsible for preparing meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring a smooth operation during service hours. If you have a passion for cooking and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to have you on our team.
The short term focus of this role will be to better service our league nights specifically on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons (2pm until dark). You will have the ability to develop weekly league specials, assist in ordering the necessary ingredients, prep the dishes, and finally execute the orders as they come in.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including proper food storage.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times.
- Assist in prepping ingredients and maintaining stock levels.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service.
- Monitor food presentation and ensure consistency in portion sizes.
- Follow instructions from the General Manager to execute daily kitchen operations.
- Assist in receiving and storing food supplies.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays (if need be)
- Food Handler’s Certification (or willingness to obtain one).
- Smart Serve Certification (or willingess to obtain one)
