Job Title: Golf Course Superintendent
Location: Manderley on the Green Golf Course


Manderley on the Green, a 27-hole golf course, located in the community of North Gower (less than 30 minutes from downtown Ottawa), Ontario, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Golf Course Superintendent to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate turf management professional to lead our course maintenance operations and ensure an exceptional experience for our members and guests.


As leader of the Turf Management Department, the Golf Course Superintendent will be entrusted with maintaining the beauty, playability, and overall excellence of our 27-hole facility. Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, plan, lead and control all golf course maintenance activities and improvements.
  • Maintain the golf course landscape at the highest quality to ensure the healthy growth of the golf course grasses, trees, wetlands and other applicable plant materials.
  • Monitor the appearance and playing conditions of the golf course and address any issues with turf quality.
  • Develop and organize daily work schedules for maintenance staff.
  • Oversee irrigation of the golf course, and provide irrigation maintenance and repair.
  • Apply fertilizer and pesticide applications.
  • Hire, train and supervise maintenance staff.
  • Monitor and maintain all health and safety practices within the turf operation to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Detailed record keeping consistent with those required of an Accredited IPM program.
  • Oversee proper maintenance and performance of maintenance equipment.
  • Work closely with the ownership group and General Manager to operate the facility in a fiscally responsible manner.


Skills/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Golf Course Maintenance management.
  • Ability to maintain and repair irrigation equipment as well as other golf course equipment.
  • Mechanical knowledge of turf grass equipment.
  • Maintaining a flexible schedule and being available for work at discretionary hours.
  • Highly motivated and hardworking individual with strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and capable of performing physically demanding work.
  • Must possess an Ontario Landscape Exterminators License.
  • Possess and maintain IPM Agent certification.
  • Diploma or certificate from a recognized turf management program is not required, but would be considered an asset.


Compensation: Commensurate with the experience, skills, and qualifications that the candidate brings to the
position.
