Description
Reporting to the General Manager, this position is responsible to provide accounting services and leadership support for Sherwood Forest Golf and Country Club. On the accounting side, the ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payroll processing, reconciling various accounts and generating financial reports. As support to the leadership, you’ll play a key role in overseeing administrative duties, participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and assist with various duties as required by the General Manager.
Job duties
• Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
• Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements
• Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other government documents
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Process, reconcile and prepare daily bank deposits.
• Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoicing, collections and payment processing.
• Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
• Oversee user accounts and financial requirements with external software partners.
• Assist in budgeting, financial planning, and cost control to ensure profitability.
• Assist with procurement processes, such as ordering necessary supplies or merchandise and oversee resulting inventory.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
• Participate in marketing, promotional, and sales transactions.
• Provide administrative functions such as filing, scanning, reviewing, and creating documents.

Required Qualifications
• Education in accounting, business, or a related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a bookkeeper or a similar accounting role.
• Proven experience in a leadership role,
• Proficiency in Sage50 accounting software is essential.
• Advanced comfort with computers and Microsoft Office is required.
• Working knowledge of Tee-On or other POS system would be an asset
