PARKING LOT GREETER/STARTER/MARSHAL - Seguin Valley Golf Club - Parry Sound, ON

Seguin Valley Golf Club is a privately owned golf course. We strive to create a happy environment/workplace for our staff and guests.

As our customers first point of contact, the Parking Lot Greeter will set the tone for the day by greeting members, guests and visitors with a warm welcome and a smile. Constant contact with the Pro Shop and Operations staff is critical to delivering the best possible service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Obtain tee sheet from Pro Shop to ensure you know the names of arriving members and guests. Ensure to obtain a revised tee sheet every two hours or as required
  • Greet guests upon arrival in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Maintain constant contact with Pro Shop and operations staff, informing them of the arrival of all members and guests
  • Keep work area clean and neat at all times
  • Clean, stock and store golf carts, when help is needed
  • Provide guests with daily information ie: cart path rules and event information, act as the Seguin Valley Ambassador
  • Assist with starting and marshalling when required
  • Assist the F&B team when required
  • Report any issues or concerns to your Supervisor or GM


The Starter Interacts with golfers in a friendly, helpful manner.

  • Responsible for informing players of course conditions and local rules.
  • Keep tee times moving on time and in an orderly manner.
  • Communicate with Golf Shop and keep up-to-date and accurate tee sheet.
  • Tracks players and speed of play.
  • Communicate with Marshals on the course any potential pace of play problems.
  • Keep track of golf carts and rental equipment.
  • Follows policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a record of daily play.
  • Balances starter sheet with Golf Shop during shift.
  • Any additional tasks assigned by a manager and/or supervisor.
  • ensuring the golf course policies are followed
  • providing guests high quality customer service.
  • Cell phone use is permitted for work purposes only.

The Marshal is responsible for monitoring the pace of play, remind groups that fall out of position of ways to speed up pace.

  • Interacts with golfers in a friendly, helpful manner.
  • Responsible for informing players of course conditions, and local rules.
  • Responsible for maintaining a reasonable pace of play on the golf course.
  • Communicate and assist Golf Shop in keeping an accurate pace of play.
  • Communicate with Starter and Golf Shop about any pace of play problems.
  • Monitor water stations and course cleanliness.
  • Assist Outside Staff Attendants as needed.
  • Cell phone use is permitted for work purposes only
  • Any additional tasks assigned by a manager and/or supervisor

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT and REQUIREMENTS

  • Work under pressure
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • Outside in a variety of weather conditions
  • Long periods of standing on your feet
  • Must be willing to work early mornings and afternoon shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Be neat and professional in appearance
  • Cell phones, earbuds, headphones are not permitted at work.
  • If you are the Parking Lot Supervisor that day, you will be permitted your cell phone for sensitive communication with pro shop only.
