Nicklaus North Golf Course is regarded as one of the most pristine and picturesque golf courses in British Columbia! As our previous Assistant has moved on to a Superintendent position at another GolfBC property, we are looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Golf Course Assistant Superintendent who is eager to learn and grow while taking our playing conditions to the next level!
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills managing our expansive grounds, including the 18-hole course, practice facility, and clubhouse landscape. With exciting projects and developments in the works, our next Assistant Superintendent has the opportunity to greatly impact our facility and grow their career.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
1. Golf Course Maintenance and Upgrades
• Oversee turf nutrient programs, pesticide applications, irrigation practices, and cultural practices.
• Maintain optimal condition of the golf course greens, bunkers, fairways, and practice facility.
• Oversee the property maintenance and aesthetics conducive to a championship facility.
• Assist in preparing and managing the operating budget and five-year capital plan.
• Coordinate golf course improvement projects.
2. Team Member Development
• Recruit, coach, train and supervise the Grounds Maintenance Team to optimum performance while ensuring their safety.
• Develop and engage the Team with the GolfBC Vision.
• Ensure the Team is scheduled effectively and payroll is completed on time.
3. Guest Experience
• Maintain course conditions that exceed Guest expectations.
• Ensure the Team is knowledgeable and able to answer Guest questions.
WHAT YOU BRING
• Minimum 4 years experience in a turf management role.
• Post-secondary education in turf maintenance; preferred but not required.
• An understanding of the golf course environment and industry.
• Strong computer skills, technologically sound, up to date with the latest industry trends.
• Experience with irrigation systems, water management, IPM, and construction projects.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to think fast and react quickly with a calm mind.

WHAT WE OFFER
• $55,000 - $70,000 prorated base salary (based on experience).
• Approximately 9-month working season (mid-February to mid-November).
